About The Article

The origin of this article is simple —— I wanted to pass CET-6.

At first, my goal was just to get a passing score. I spent a month memorizing vocabulary, and casually tried a practice test.

Well, to my surprise, I scored nearly 500.

At that moment, I thought: why not go all in? Two months of serious preparation, one shot. Score high enough this time, and I'd never have to take it again.

On exam day, things went unexpectedly well.

Listening has always been my weakest link, the section I feared most — and the hardest part of CET-6. But when I checked the answers — all correct in Parts A and C, only three or four wrong in Part B — I barely lost any points at all!!

Reading felt confident after I finished, yet the answers turned out just average.

After all the reckoning, my CET‑6 estimate stood at 580+.(yet the final score settled just north of 560—a faint regret that I cannot quite shake.)

I thought to myself: I won this bet.

One night, I came across a Douyin video — a young girl who had prepared diligently for CET-6, stumbled on exam day, yet mustered the courage to share her entire experience.

That moved me. I decided I should write something too, to record this journey, regardless of success or failure.

Life, after all, is but a journey — focus too much on the destination, and you lose the meaning of the path itself.

But I had too much to say. Writing it all down would make it long — too long for a WeChat Moment, where few would have the patience to read through.

Then I remembered: not long ago, a friend from kindergarten, now at Tsinghua, shared a URL in his Moments — a forum website he built himself, chronicling his love stories over the years.

I thought, that's a great idea.

The idea was there. The platform was there. What about the content?

It was all my own experience — writing it out would be second nature.

Content settled. But what title should I choose? I pondered for a long time...

As an AG fan, I recalled a documentary from the spring of 2023, capturing the team at their lowest point — The Answer Given by Time.

Now, three years later, looking back — the team once buried in criticism and doubt now stands covered in glory.

What time answers reveals new meanings with each passing glance — that's exactly what I wanted to express.

And so came the WeChat Moment you saw:

"The Answer Given by Time ⏰" with a link attached.

A long post; those not close enough might not bother to read it all.

But by putting the link out there, those who click in and read through with patience —— they are the ones who truly want to know me. This is my kind of filter.

And the website gives me a space to speak freely, without restraint.

That's the story of how this article came to be. Now, about its final version.

If I remember correctly, The Answer Given by Time was finalized just days before my final exams in the second semester of freshman year. I revised it over and over again until it took its final shape.

I had hoped this article would fully capture my thoughts. But I've since come to realize — with each passing phase, with more experiences under my belt, my state of mind shifts, and the things I want to say change too.

Two months have passed now, and it no longer holds everything I feel today. But I know — at that moment, it was the truest voice I had.

So I decided not to change it. I'll leave it as it was then.

As for why I added an English translation — I feel that some things just sound more beautiful in English.
