What Time Answers
A mere undergraduate from an ordinary university, yet CET-6 score above 550. The road to CET-6 is also the road of my life.
On June 29, 2026, I revisited a legendary KPL documentary — AG's What Time Answers.
On June 30, 2026, I stumbled upon a video of a young girl bravely sharing her failure in the CET-6 exam.
I thought to myself: like that girl, whether in success or failure, the year I've endured and the two months I've devoted to this exam should not go unnoticed.
And like AG's documentary, time will eventually give me its answer — on both roads.
On July 1, 2026, as I walked down the street, looking back on the past year, I broke down in tears.
How time flies. In the blink of an eye, I've been away from home, studying in another province, for nearly a year.
Stumbling and crawling, that little kid who had always relied on family and friends — he made it through. Alone.
I suppose there must be a stretch of life that one walks entirely by oneself — filled with pain, filled with solitude. But that — that is growth.
He has grown up, come to understand, and found himself.
He has learned to stand on his own — in life, relying on no one but himself.
"When you rely on yourself, you come to realize that who's there, who's not, who's more, who's less — none of it truly matters."
He lives with clarity, with transparency — seeking no one's understanding, arguing with no one.
"What you see is what I am — I won't refute either the good or the bad."
Perhaps time has already given me its answer on the road of life.
With these words lingering in my heart, let me turn back to my CET-6 journey.
Two months of preparation — daily vocabulary drills, nearly a month of past papers and corrections, and countless listening exercises. The grind was tough, but persistence is a kind of beauty.
During those two months, I cut off almost all social contact, choosing solitude by will. In solitude, I found my center; in study, I found my fullness.
"A heart full of abundance walks as boldly alone as in a crowd."
Perhaps time has given me its answer on the road to CET-6 as well.
On June 13, 2026, I sat for the exam — nervous yet composed, and it went far smoother than I had dared to hope.
Then came the two-month wait.
On August 24, 2026, the results were out — and I, a student from an ordinary university, having stumbled in the college entrance exam, scored over 550 on my very first attempt in the second semester of freshman year.
Perhaps it was luck, or hard work, or simply capability — but in this exam, my weakest and most feared section, listening, saw me get all correct in Parts A and C, missing only three or four in Part B; Yet the simpler reading scored only so‑so, and the writing and translation fared no better.
The success was hard-earned, but I know — I deserved it.
I needed this triumph to prove — to myself: I have always been capable. That failure back then was a loss to myself, not to life. Even a scribbled answer sheet to life's questions can still be perfect. To others: Here, I carry the confidence and the strength to hold my head high.
The spirit of youth is a non-renewable resource — I am not content with where I am, nor resigned to mediocrity.
This CET-6 victory is but a starting point on my life's journey.
Because — wait a little longer. The answer given by time reveals new meanings with each passing glance…
